Rooster took a fun trip to Tractor Supply today, where he experienced some new sights and smells; we worked on generalizing his basic obedience and loose-leash walking skills. He confidently trotted around the store, checking in every so often with us and sitting patiently while we browsed the aisles. We worked on name recognition to keep that engagement with us even in new areas, ensuring he stays focused on us.
Field training trips like this are an important part of Rooster’s training. It exposes him to a new environment full of new smells and distractions while challenging his obedience.
