We held back a breeding prospect from our current litter from Zeus and Kennedy who we named Reagan’s Hope. My husband calls her Nancy, too! Reagan is a standard, chocolate fleece coated girl that should mature to be close to 65 lbs. She is a big hunk of chocolate love.
I would love to have you follow me as I work on training Reagan. I understand what you experience as a pet family as I am busy training Reagan. Once a week I will share Reagan’s progress and growth. Right now I am a bit exhausted from housebreaking. She is very good when tethered with a leash to a chair or to me. We have started taking away all food by 6 pm and water by 7 pm. Reagan is currently 11 weeks old and she is fully crate trained. She might whimper when I first place her in the crate. I put nothing absorbent in the crate but I do give her one of her chew toys. She is able to sleep dry in her crate from 9:30-6:15 every night. Sometimes, she stays up until 10:30 or 11 but she is a sleepy girl and I would prefer for her to learn that her crate is a safe and comforting place.
During the day when I work or am running errands, I never leave her in her crate for more than 3-4 hours. She is such a good girl but…. we had a very nice family come to visit today. After they left, I looked over at Reagan’s dog bed and noticed that she had poo-ed on top of it! Ugh! So embarrassing! As I cleaned it up, I remembered that all of my families are experiencing the same issues that I am. We have only had one accident inside today. I think we may be turning a corner!
Tomorrow she will receive her second round of shots and I always give heartworm preventative monthly. I will let you know how much she weighs each week, too. We hope that she passes all of her testing as we really love having her as our family pet!
Do you love Reagan’s look? Waverly and Zeus are expecting standard 65 lb puppies in cream and chocolate in 8 weeks, hurry as we only have 2 available spots on this litter!
