Did you know that all CVL pet puppies are born in my office? My office is near my bedroom. When moms are due to deliver they come back from our guardian home 3-4 days prior to delivery. They either sleep in our room with me or in my office. I set my alarm to wake me up every 2 hours so I can make sure they are not going into labor on their own. Sometimes, I even wake them up checking on them!
My office is full of all of my favorite things as I spend so much time in there! I have my favorite signs (my current fave is: Just A Small Town Girl) lots of labradoodle pictures and signs, bulletin boards with lists and puppy pictures and a custom picture of my Grandpa’s church that he pastored in Morton, ILL hangs over my whelping box. If you are going to be in your office all of the time (and sleep in there often) it is important to make it friendly! I also think that my dogs find if I love the area than they feel comfortable, too.
I have an antique armoire that was always in my parent’s living room of my childhood home. It stores all of my whelping supplies, extra puppy blankets, hand sanitizer and disinfectants. My mom always was so careful to always store only blankets and pillows and I have repurposed it!
If you are visiting our home and we currently do not have puppies, ask for a tour! I love to share it when my whelping box is empty!
