I have been thinking lately about sharing one week in the life of a dog breeder. This next week is a very typical week for me so I thought it might be fun to track. I am up early this morning as Callie is in heat and it makes her restless. Her constant jumping on my bed to sleep / off to cool off kept waking me up so I decided to roll out of bed earlier than usual as it is driving me crazy simply waiting for the alarm to go off. Yes, my day started at 5 am. My first move was to head to the laundry room and throw a load of dirty puppy towels and blankets in the wash.

Dr Herrmann is coming today for the first round of shots for Abby’s babies. They head home next Wednesday. My youngest daughters homeschool so they have a math test planned during the vet appointment. We will head up to Lebanon, Indiana after our appointment. I need to get the tags on my car updated but I am also in need of puppy food. Across, the street from the DMV is my favorite store: TSC/Tractor Supply Company. Their prices are great and I also need to pick up some puppy crates. We will grab a quick lunch and then head home as the girls go to the library for research time today. They are following it up by taking a walk in the village with Reagan. She is still a big puppy and we are working with her to not pull on the leash. Sometimes she walks us instead of us walking her!

In between these fun times today, we have homeschool, pen clean ups, multiple meal times for humans and canines, and some families visiting puppies this afternoon. Tonight after cheerleading, we are going to see one of our new studs that we purchased from Canada in his new guardian home. They are loving him and he is beyond happy in his new home. It is always so rewarding to make a “love match” for families!
