Bringing home a new puppy is super exciting! So exciting, in fact, that it can be easy to forget one of the most crucial parts of puppy homecoming; establishing a routine. Keeping your puppy on a consistent schedule is a game changer for potty training and establishing good behaviors! Here is a sample schedule that our trainers use for puppies on the farm!
6:00 am- Wake up and go potty outside.
6:30 am- Eat breakfast.
6:45 am- Pick up food bowl, and go potty outside.
7:15-11:00 am- Free time! Play, chew, train!
11:00 am- Eat lunch.
11:15 am- Pick up food bowl, and go potty outside.
11:45 am- Free time! Play, chew, train!
12:00-1:00 pm- Nap time in the crate.
1:00 pm- Wake up and go potty outside.
1:30-4:00 pm- Free time! Play, chew, train!
4:00 pm- Eat dinner.
4:15 pm- Pick up food bowl, and go potty outside.
4:45 pm- Free time! Play, chew, train!
5:00-6:00 pm- Nap time in the crate.
6:00 pm- Wake up and go potty outside.
6:30- Pick up the water bowl.
7:00-8:30 pm- Free time! Play, chew, train!
8:30 pm- Go potty outside.
9:00 pm- Go to bed in crate.
This schedule can be adjusted to fit your family’s routine! Remember, consistency is key!
