It’s no secret puppies like to chew on things they shouldn’t. Inappropriate chewing can be a hard habit to break. Puppies naturally lose their baby teeth to make room for their adult teeth to come in. Just like humans, it can be uncomfortable and during the process, they will chew on things they shouldn’t in order to soothe their gums. While this process is inevitable your things don’t have to be casualties. The key is to redirect your puppy’s chewing to something you would rather they chew on and teach them what not to chew on. You can teach them what is inappropriate to chew on by spraying a product called Bitter Apple spray on it. This works for most things like electrical cords, chair legs, trash cans, door stoppers, etc. The taste of the product will discourage them from putting it in their mouth. Reapply as needed. Then redirect them to an appropriate chew toy! It is as simple as that.
Good luck!
