A New Year… We have so many new ideas for our blog. We will continue to have great pictures from puppy families but one of our goals for 2013 is to share more about our dogs and our breeding program. We want to make this blog your “go to” resource for choosing a puppy and raising your puppy.

A few days ago, we heard from a family that placed the very first deposit for a puppy from our breeding program. Carolina was the first of their four labradoodles! We feel so honored that families like to Murphys have invited us to be a part of their family when they adopt a puppy from us. They are still referring us when people run into them and their gorgeous dogs.

The number of Christmas cards and letters from puppy families that we received was humbling, too. We love seeing how our puppies become cherished members of their families and how the families incorporate them into their Christmas cards. Thank you for allowing us to become a part of your extended family!

This Christmas season has allowed my family some much needed family time. Our college aged kids came home and we have relished in playing family board games, playing in the Indiana snow, and playing with our current litter of puppies from Kennedy and Zeus. My husband pulled our kids with a tug rope on sleds behind our tractor. Callie has run after the kids after her initial shock of seeing snow (after all she is from the West Coast!) and we have laughed at her desire for the world’s fastest potty breaks! When she is inside, she will run from window to window of the house to watch the tractor and sleds circle our property. Kennedy does not like to leave her puppies for long but sneaks out for regular romps in the snow.

Last night, my husband and I came home early from a friend’s New Year’s Eve party. We do not like to be on the roads after 12 so we pulled into our drive at 11:55. We went and rang in the New Year by cuddling puppies!

We are excited to see what 2013 brings to Colonial Village Labradoodles! A few of our plans:

We have five new girls that have been growing up in guardian homes waiting to join our breeding program in 2013.
We will continue exploring new resources for our puppy families from Doggie Daycares to grooming and pet supplies.
Puppy Go Home Packs will be offered for a convenience fee to puppy families.

Do you have any ideas for us? 2013 will be a year of growth and changes and we love feedback! Watch our blog daily to see more of the plans that we have in store for our puppies!

May God bless you richly in 2013,
Kyle and Mindi
